Abstract

558,934. Bolts. WILSON, A. Oct. 31, 1942, No. 15358. [Classes 44 and 89 (i)] A temporary service bolt operable from one side of the work comprises a threaded bar 10 with a bifurcated end in which a head 12 is pivoted at 13. The slot forming the bifurcation is extended at 15 to form a groove to fit and act as a stop for the end 16 of the head, and a projection 12c on the head engages an abutment 15a in the bolt, thus limiting the movement of the head to 90 degrees. The end 12d of the head is weighted so that by rotating the bolt by means of a turning bar 18 the head-may be caused to assume either the inoperative position in line with the bar or the operative position at right angles thereto. The turning bar serves also to indicate the position of the bolt. A loose sleeve 19 is fitted between the nut 11 and the work.
