Abstract
558,925. Brightening aluminium &c. BOWEN, E. WINDSOR-. July 23, 1942, No. 10314. [Class 41] A bright specular surface is produced on articles of aluminium and aluminium alloys by anodic treatment in a bath containing from 40 to 75 per cent by weight of orthophosphoric acid, 10 to 25 per cent of water, and 15 to 30 per cent of an alkylene glycol or an ether of an alkylene glycol, or a mixture of two or more of these substances having a viscosity of not more than 110 centipoises at 20‹ C. and a boiling point above 100‹ C.
