Abstract

558,469. Electrodeposition of copper. DU PONT DE NEMOURS & CO., E.I., and WERNLUND, C. J. July 3, 1942, No. 9195. Addition to 528,762. [Class 41] The bath for electrodeposition of copper according to the parent Specification is modified by the introduction of potassium in the form of KOH as part of the alkali metal content in the proportion of from 1 to 6 moles of sodium ions for each mole of potassium ions. The alkali metal sulphocyanide may be omitted but 0.25 ounces per gallon are preferably present. Brightening and anti-pitting agents such as carbohydrates and high molecular weight-betaines may be included in the bath.
