Abstract

558,259. Valves. WALKER, CROSWELLER & CO., Ltd., and GAMBLES, C. C. June 4, 1942, No. 7587. [Class 135] A temperature regulator for liquids flowing in a circuit, has an inlet 5, Figs. 1 and 2, an outlet 6 to a cooling device, and an outlet 7, the relative volumes passing through the outlets being determined by the position of a shutter 28 actuated by bimetallic coils 31, 32. The shutter has arms 26, 27 carrying counterweights 29 and working on bushes 24, 25, the former being mounted on a sleeve 15 socketing on a spindle 10, and the latter on the spindle. The coils are connected at 40, and their inner ends are secured to the sleeve and a bush 36. The sleeve 15 is adjustably carried by the casing cover and has an indicating pointer 22. Earthing connections may be made to a boss 43, stops 35 limit the shutter movement, and the inner face of the shutter is curved to form a guide surface 30.
