650,190. Speed governors. AKTIEBOLAGET ATLAS DIESEL. June 15, 1948, No. 16099. Convention date, June 18, 1947. [Class 57] A speed governor for machines having a rotor 4 driven by a working fluid flowing through a passage 8 controlled by a rotating throttle 18 driven mechanically by the rotor is characterized in that the throttle operates without frictional contact with the walls of the passage or other stationary part and is moved by means responsive to the speed of the machine against the direction of flow through, the passage to reduce the effective area thereof upon an increase of speed and vice versa. The governor is disposed within a casing 6 of the machine and has pivoted weights 14, carried by a body part 5 secured to the rotor, and having fingers 16 engaging a flange 17 of the throttle. The latter is loaded by a spring 20 enclosed in a sleeve 19 carried by the body part. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also an embodiment in which the sleeve is dispensed with and the leading spring, which is adjustable, is disposed within the rotor. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
