[Class 99 (ii)] In a hose according to the parent Specification two plies are superposed so as to leave an overlapping edge on each ply, the longitudinal joint being made by arranging the overlapped edge a<SP>1</SP> of one ply against the overlapping edge c of the same ply with the overlapping edge D only of the other ply entering between the opposite edges Cb<SP>1</SP> of the plies, thus forming a joint of three thicknesses. The joint may be stitched through at G, H, I and J, and a layer of rubber may be interposed between the plies and all the layers of the joint.
