Abstract

557,764. Pressure regulating valves. OGDEN, A. L., and KIMBER, H. July 6, 1942, No. 9320. [Class 135] A diaphragm-actuated pressure regulator has the easing formed in two parts, a base portion 1 with a central inlet port 2 and radial outlet passages 5 connected to ports in the upper face of the base and a dished and flanged cover 6 bolted to the base. The diaphragm 13 is clamped between a ring 14 resting on a packing 9 and: a dished part of the cover. The diaphragm is adjustably loaded by a spring 11 housed in a cup 10 formed integrally with the cover and arranged between a backing plate 16 for the diaphragm and an abutment 20 located by a boss 21 on a screwed adjusting spindle 12. The valve member 19 is hinged to member 17 attached to the diaphragm and co-operates with a seat detachably secured in a shoulder 3 at the upper end of the inlet passage.
