Abstract
557,501. Inhalers. SILTEN, H. July 16, 1942, Nos. 9896 and 13505. [Class 81 (ii)] An inhaler comprises a lower member 1, with an air inlet 10, a spray producer 6, 7, and a bulb &c. for supplying air under slight pressure. To the container 1 is attached an upper member 2 and a funnel 11a, through which the inhalant is nebulized, leading to an inlet valve 19 on a face mask 12 which is also provided with an outlet valve 13 for the exhaled carbon dioxide &c. The outlet end of the member 2 may be closed by a cap 21 and the air inlet opening 10 may be closed by a cap or stopper 11 ; both caps may be formed with pouring lips or spouts and act as measuring devices. The face mask may be separably carried by the upper member 2. The valves 13, 19 each comprise a light plate of metal, synthetic resin &c, the movement of each valve being limited by a metal framework 16, 17. The members 1, 2 and the face mask 12 may be made of a synthetic resin.
