Abstract

[Class 37] [Also in Group XXXIX] For recording sound, a diaphragm 2, 4 vibrated directly by the sound waves or indirectly through the electromagnetic means, carries a mirror 15 which reflects and focuses light from a source 16 on to a recording film 17. The diaphragm consists of a rigid control portion 4 with a flexible surround 2, preferably of rubber, and forms part of the outer wall of a sealed gas-tight enclosure 1 in which the pressure is sub-atmospheric. Specification 131,041, [Class 40 (iv)], is referred to.
