Abstract

556,707. Drainage or sewerage pipes. WHITTAKER D. April 7, 1942, No. 4556. [Class 33] [Also in Group XXVIII] Drainage or sewerage pipes are constructed so that they are parallel externally but internally tapered so that they are larger in size internally at one end than the other and the taper extends continuously from the larger to the smaller end of the pipe so that when the pipes are laid in line as shown in Fig. 2, the diameter 3 at one end is larger than the diameter 4 at the other end thus forming a depression in which is formed a pool 5 of liquid or moisture. The pipes may be laid as in Fig. 3 with the ends 3 adjacent each other and also the ends 4 so that a larger pool 8 is formed. The pipes may be plain ended as shown or may have a pocket at one end for jointing or may have spigot and pocket ends or be flanged for jointing.
