Abstract

555,634. Transfers. CAILLE, V. Oct. 30, 1941, No. 13993. [Class 100 (ii)] A heat transfer comprises a paper backing with a coating of a spirit varnish, e.g., shellac dissolved in alcohol, from which the spirit is not completely evaporated, and which bears the impression. The ink of the impression acts as a resist to retain a certain amount of spirit in the varnish until transfer is to be effected when the heat applied, e.g., by a hot iron, causes the evaporation of the spirit and the separation of the impression from the coating of varnish.
