464,292. Coated paper. BURGESS, A. F. (Paper Patents Co.) Oct. 15, 1935, No. 28446. [Class 96] To reduce " dusting " in coated papers the coating mixture of liquid adhesive and insoluble solid is applied, to a paper web which has been partially dried by heating, at high viscosity and low temperature, so as to avoid separation of the liquid fraction by penetration into the paper. The web and/or the mixture may be cooled just prior to applying the coating, e.g. using brine-cooled rolls for the web or water-jacketed pipe lines for the mixture.
