Abstract
555,023. Spinning yarns &c. FINE COTTON SPINNERS & DOUBLER'S ASSOCIATION, Ltd., ROSS, T., and WILLIAMS, T. May 13, 1942, No. 6475. [Class 120 (ii)] The lower part of the outer surface of the boss of the bobbing driving wheel of a flyer or like frame is formed with an annular groove which is connected by one or more holes with the inside bore of the boss so that the surfaces between the boss and the spindle bolster bearing can be lubricated ; one or more transverse holes may also be provided in the bolster bearing to conduct some of the lubricant to the spindle rotating therein. As shown the groove E<SP>1</SP> is formed where the toothed portion e<SP>2</SP> of the driving wheel E projects from the boss e<SP>1</SP> and may be provided with a wick and an annular rim to prevent the oil being thrown out of the groove on the wheel rotates ; holes e<SP>3</SP> lead from in the bolster B lead oil to the spindle A. The lifter rail casing C<SP>1</SP> may have a hole or recess c to guide the spout of the oil-can to the groove E<SP>1</SP> and the hole or recess may have a movable cover c<SP>1</SP> or a space may be left between the casing and the boss for the entry of the spout of the oil-can.
