Abstract

554,996. Drawing fibres. CASABLANCAS HIGH DRAFT CO., Ltd., and NOGUERA, J. April 27, 1942, No. 5642. [Class 120 (ii)] In drawing mechanism for textile fibres comprising pairs of drawing rollers each pair consisting of a positively-driven roller and a roller in frictional contact therewith, the frictionallydriven roller receives motion by contact of its working surface with an additional positivelydriven roller which is not, itself, a drawing roller. As shown in Fig. 3 the frictiondrawn soft-covered top roller 1 resting on the positively-driven roller 4 is also driven by contact with an additional positively-driven roller 6 and is kept in position on the rollers 4, 6 without any support by the pull of the weighting-hook 9 : the bosses of the roller 1 are just wide enough to cover the maximum width of the strand. The invention is also described in connection with the drawing mechanisms described in Specifications 552,927 and 553,748.
