553,371. Fluxes. ELEKTRISKA SVETSNINGS-AKTIEBOLAGET. Aug. 8, 1941, No. 10121. Convention date, March 4, 1940. [Class 82 (ii)] [Also in Group XXII] A flux for coating a welding rod consists of quartz or silicates and may contain combustible substances or may consist of limestone, dolomite or magnesite, together with fluorspar and a binding agent of potassium or sodium water glass and if desired kaolin and silicates, iron and manganese ores, titanium dioxide &c. It may contain 20-42.5 per cent. of limestone, 15-25 per cent. of fluorspar, 16-45 per cent. of iron powder, 7.5-10 per cent. of ferro-silicon, 5-7.5 per cent. of kaolin together with 5 to 20 per cent. of water glass.
