Abstract

553,325. Wrenches. WOLF & CO., Ltd., S., and GUBBINS, C. H. May 20, 1942, No. 6871. [Class 61 (iii)] Wrenches for operating chucks of portable power driven drilling, grinding &c. machines are anchored to prevent loss. A clip 8 surrounds the supply cable 6 for the electric motor driving the machine and has a spring pad 15 that allows the clip to be moved to any desired position but prevents accidental movement. The chuck key, shown as having teeth 11 for engaging teeth on the actuating sleeve 4 of the chuck, has a shank 10 having a bearing in the clip and maintained by a spring 14 in position to provide finger clearance between the handle 12 and the cable. With fluid pressure motors, the clip is mounted on the supply hose.
