[Class 135] [Also in Group XXVI] In a pump for supplying fuel to aircraft or naving a relief valve 112 between the suction side 120 and the discharge side 122, the suction side is closed by a balancing and sealing diaphragm 182 of synthetic rubber with a bead 176 on the inner edge gripped by a bead on a cup member 136 arranged between the valve and its spring 134. This arrangement maintains the discharge pressure constant as the variable suction in the chamber 120 acts equally and oppositely on the valve 112 and on the cup 136 and diaphragm.
