Abstract

408,892. Ram pumps. SWAINSON, R. A., 97, High View, Wallsend, Northumberland. Oct. 27, 1933, No. 29805. [Class 102 (i).] In a ram pump the cylinder, suction and discharge valves and seats, relief valve, suction chamber, strainer, suction connection and stuffing box are arranged to form a conical cylinder unit which can be easily removed as a whole. The suction valve and the discharge valve k are of the circumferential type and are constituted by a rubber band or several metal elements. The conical cylinder unit c is held in the casing a by nuts d and e. In a modification the strainer n is formed on the peripheral surface of the cylinder extension and the suction connection is parallel to the discharge connection.
