[Class 83 (iii)] In fitting a chuck c to a lathe or like spindle a having a screwed chuck-receiving part d, Fig. 3, and a stop flange b, a frusto-conical surface h is arranged between the part d and the flange to guide the chuck into a correctly centred position with its end abutting the flange. In a modification, Fig. 5, a cylindrical centring collar e is arranged between the conical surface i and the stop flange.
