552,247. Crankshaft bearing supports. FORD MOTOR CO., Ltd. May 18, 1942, No. 6730. Convention date, March 31, 1941. [Class 7 (ii)] [Also in Group XXXIV] A crankshaft bearing for V-type aircraft engines is supported by a crankcase web 10 and has a cap 12 secured by bolts 25-28, bolts 25, 27 being parallel to one cylinder bank and bolts 26, 28 to the other bank. The cap is trapezoidal and has on its longer parallel side two lugs 22 entering recesses 23 to the flange 24 of the web 10. The bolts are housed in conduits to the web and are threaded into sleeves 19-21 housed in the apertures 16-18, the central sleeve 20 being in two parts to secure the two bolts 26, 27.
