Abstract
552,194. Urinals. SHIRES & CO. (LONDON), Ltd., and HARRISON, F. C. Sept. 22, 1941, No. 12239. [Class 26] In a urinal comprising one or more stalls 1 or slabs in which the upper part 3 is recessed to form a recess or cavity 4 closed by a separate cover 5, a cradle 7 of substantial triangular outline is mounted transversely as shown on the pivots 7 mounted in the wings. 11, the curved base 9 being weighted and the pointed end 12 resting in the normal position against a stop, not shown. The recess or cavity 4 forms a gutter or channel leading to one or more ducts or passages 6 which lead at a downward angle to the front face of the stall or slab. The cradle 7 is supplied with water from a tap 13 at the end of a pipe 14 and when it is filled rocks about its pivots 7 and discharges the water into the gutters and through the openings 6. In a modification the rear wall of the recess 4 may be omitted and then one of the pivots 7 is mounted on a wall or in a part of the urinal provided at the back of the cavity.
