Abstract

1,079,715. A Wash basin or bowl urinal. LEEDS FIRECLAY CO. Ltd. July 1, 1966 [Aug. 12, 1965], No. 34531/65. Heading A4N. A wash basin or bowl urinal comprises a hollow wall unit (1) capable of being built into a wall structure (2) said unit having a glazed front face (3) and a glazed recess (4). The recess curves inwardly and downwards from the upper edge of the unit towards its rear face (6) then forms a channel (7) and sweeps over the front face of the unit to form a lip (5). A drainage outlet (8) leads from the bottom centre of the channel and is associated with an outlet union (9) for the connection thereto of a drainage pipe. A central passage (10) associated with a union (11) for connection to a water supply pipe (12) leads down through the top of the unit, and water is supplied to the unit by means of a jet or spreader (13), the water supply being controlled manually by means of a push button (14) or automatically. The unit has a top external recess (16) and a housing (17) enclosing the water supply valve (15). In another embodiment the unit may be of greater depth and have a deeper channel, and so serve as a bowl urinal. The unit may be slightly curved out from the wall at least in the centre region.
