Abstract

552,063. Automatic exchange systems. BIRSS, R. R. Sept. 23, 1941, No. 12307. [Class 40 (iv)] [Also in Group XL] In an impulse receiving arrangement for correcting distorted A.C. impulses, the impulses after rectification are applied in parallel to the grids of two thermionic valves V1, V2 of which one V1 controls the responding relay A while the anode circuit of the other V2 is back-coupled through a transformer TR1 to the grid of the first in order to produce at the beginning and end of each impulse a voltage kick which assists and quickens of the response of the relay A. A second correcting stage may be used if one stage is insufficient, and the circuit described in Specification 552,062 may serve as the second stage. According to the Provisional Specification, the arrangement may also be employed for receiving direct current impulses having substantial voltage changes with little current.
