Abstract
551,488. Mixing apparatus. MARSH, R. D. Aug. 22, 1941, No. 10738. [Class 86] An apparatus particularly for beating liquid glue into foam comprises a framework which can be moved about on rollers 20-22, and which supports a container 12 secured by spring clips 33 to a freely rotatable turntable 13, and a whisk or stirrer 47, 46 movable into and out of the container with its axis parallel to, but laterally displaced from, the axis of the container. The stirrer comprises lengths of metal rod passed through a tube 46 and bent to form skeleton blades, the tube being secured by a collar 45 to the shaft 15 of a motor 16, which is carried by a plate 44 adapted to be raised and lowered to move the stirrer out of and into the container by a cable 50 operated by a handle 53. A paddle blade 57 on a rotatable rod 56 adjustably mounted in a bracket 59 on the motor casing serves to prevent rotation or reduce the speed of the container, the set of the paddle being indicated by a pointer 58.
