Abstract
550,398. Preventing condensation on windows. TILLYER, A., and BRITISH INDESTRUCTO GLASS, Ltd. July 2, 1941, No. 8363. [Class 20 (iii)] In a bullet-resisting screen assembly for an aircraft, ship or tank and the like, a detachable frame carrying a transparent demisting panel is secured to the main frame carrying the laminated screen. The de-misting panel 18, which may be made of laminated glass, is mounted in a channelled rubber gasket 19 held, so as to include an air space, against the inner side of the bullet-resisting screen 12 by a frame 20 recessed to receive the gasket. The frame 20 has lugs 21 through which pass screwthreaded bolts 22 which take the place of three of the screw studs 16 which hold together portions 13, 14 of the main frame. Lock nuts 23 are tightened to hold the panel 18 securely, and to ensure that it is parallel with the main screen 12, and does not interfere with the optical requirements of the assembly. This panel may readily be applied to existing screens. Specifications 477,941 and 479,317 are referred to.
