Abstract
487,032. Double windows ; preventing dimming of windows. JUNKERS FLUGZEUGUND - MOTORENWERKE AKT.-GES. Dec. 14, 1937, No. 34582. Convention date, Dec. 28, 1936. [Class 20 (iii)] Double windows, particularly of vehicles, aircraft, and the like, between the panels of which a heated fluid is circulated to maintain them free from deposits of ice are characterized in that the outer panel 2 is made of thin material to allow for free conduction of heat and the inner panel of stronger material to absorb stresses. The outer panel may be only sufficiently thick to take tension stresses and the pressure of the fluid adjusted to that of the external air. Supporting webs 4 preferably transparent and lying in the direction of travel may be connected to the inner panel. The edges of the panels may be given a bulbous form and clamped by mounts 7 in resilient liners 6.
