Abstract
550,114. Electric conductors. ZUCKER, B. Oct. 7, 1941, No. 12944. [Class 36] An electric conductor is insulated by means of beads 10 in the form of thimbles with apertures 13 in the end wall from which extends integrally a bush 14 with an inwardly tapering through-way, the bush preferably being reinforced by webs extending between it and the inner surface of the thimble. The thimbles are preferably made from a synthetic resin or like thermo-plastic or thermo-setting composition, preferably polystyrene, and may have domeshaped end walls and cylindrical skirts, and the skirts may have holes or cut-away parts. Each end wall may have more than one aperture and associated bush. Conductors are threaded through a series of the thimbles, and a single- or multilayer covering of conducting and/or non-conducting material, preferably braided, may surround the thimbles, the end of such a covering being held between a clamping ring 19, Fig. 4, and a reduced skirt' 18 of the end thimble. A copper &c. tube may form the covering. Two or more cables as above may be arranged parallel to each other, or twisted one upon the other, and held together as by one or more outer coverings.
