Abstract

549,288. Thermal switches. IGRANIC ELECTRIC CO., Ltd. (Cutler-Hammer, Inc.). April 9, 1942. No. 4678. [Class 38 (v)] A heater for a thermal responsive switch comprises a heater coil 1, through which the current passes to the device to be protected, in a substantially pressure - tight casing 9 with are-entrant wall extending within the coil and forming a well 13 into which projects the thermally responsive element, the casing is closed by an insulating head 6, 7 which supports the terminals 19 of the coil and a metal annulus 12. The casing and the end 12 are lined with mica 14, 15. The coil and the inner surface of the mica disc 6 are embedded in a mass of self-setting cement, electrically insulating but heat conducting.
