Abstract

548,160. Stereoscopes. MAINARDI, P., and MAINARDI, M. N. Oct. 16, 1941, No. 13350. Convention date, May 22. [Class 97 (i)] A stereoscope, for use with a slide 15 bearing images 16 which are side uppermost and have their vertical axes aligned but oppositely directed, comprises reflectors 17 reflecting light from the images to reflectors 18 and thence to oculars 11 ; the arrangement of the reflectors is such as to produce similar orientation of the viewed images 20. The plane of the slide 15 may be parallel to the axes of the oculars, or may be tilted between 5 degrees and 25 degrees thereto, the necessary adjustment of the reflectors being effected by trial and error. The housing of the apparatus may have a window in a front wall carrying ground glass adjacent a slot for the slide, and may have adjustable oculars in a top wall provided with a nose recess.
