Abstract

546,454. Resilient supports. DUNLOP RUBBER CO.; Ltd., MURPHY, E. A., HICKIN, N. E., and HOGG, W. H. Oct. 9, 1940, No. 15061. [Class 108 (iii)] Resilient rubber mountings of disc form in which the load is applied to a central sleeve 12 are shaped with a conical periphery which is bonded to a similar surface 3 on a support 1 whereby compression is allied with shear, and are made of varying thickness diametrically. The central sleeve may be conical, as shown in Fig. 5, to provide a further compression-resisting component in addition to the shear resistance. A rim 15 may be provided to limit the downward movement of the object supported.. Several alternative metal supports are shown.
