Abstract
249,928. British Thomson-Houston Co., Ltd., Trencham, H., and Heath, H. C. Jan. 2, 1925. Dashpots.-In a dashpot of the cylinder and piston type, the cylinder is constructed with a portion of restricted bore, the co-operating cupshaped piston being of substantially the same diameter and being provided with holes 22 or tapered slots 23 in its longitudinal periphery. Downward movement of the piston is resisted by a force which increases as the holes or slots become coverd bv the restricted bore of the cylinder. The holes 24 in the piston ensure free upward movement, these holes being covered on the downward stroke by the disc 25.
