Abstract
541,252. Bearings. GLACIER METAL CO., Ltd., HOLLIGAN, P. T., and BATE, J. June 7, 1940, No. 9958. Drawings to Specification. [Class 12 (i)] A bearing element consists of a lining of a synthetic resin bonded to a metal support by an interlayer of resilient material. In one example, a lining of ureaformaldehyde is bonded to a steel support by a layer of rubber or rubber cement. The resin layer may have a filling of wood flour or fabric or laminated impregnated fabric may be used, and the layer may be moulded on to the rubber layer. The steel support maybe brass-plated to facilitate bonding the rubber layer which may be vulcanized simultaneously with moulding of the resin layer.
