Abstract

544,900. Automatic control systems for electric motors. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. Dec. 16, 1940, No. 17709. Convention date, Dec. 16, 1939. [Class 38 (iv)] [Also in Group XXXVIII] Tension. To maintain constant tension, e.g. in winding wire, an induction voltage regulator 15 is adjusted by a loop of the wire and varies the grid potential of valves 18, 19 in series with the armature 17 of the reel motor. To prevent hunting, a condenser 26 applies an opposed voltage in the biasing circuit. The condenser is charged through a resistance 27 by the potential across a resistance 23 in the motor circuit.
