Convention date, Oct. 14, 1939, [Class 17 (ii)] [Also in Group VIII] A composite sole for footwear comprises a tread layer 12 of fibrous unwoven material, e.g. felt, a layer 13 or rubberized woven material and a layer 14 of unvulcanized rubber the layers being secured in assembled relation by stitching. An additional layer 15 of fibrous unwoven material may be included to provide additional thickness in the region of the heel.
