526,845. Rubber-soled footwear. EDWARDS & HOLMES, Ltd. March 27, 1939, No. 9506. Convention date, March 31, 1938. [Class 17 (ii)] Footwear has the sole or sole and heel of unvulcanized crepe rubber applied to a layer of cork. The upper also may be connected by crepe and may be lined with leather. The parts may be connected by latex. A crepe sole 12 may be cemented to the upper 10 and secured by brads 13, a sole of cork 15 is then cemented to the crepe sole, an outer sole 16 of crepe cemented to the cork, and finally a strip 17 of crepe may be secured all round. In a modification, the layer 12 may be omitted and the edge of the cork sole surrounded by a strip 6, a further strip 8 of crepe being applied over the whole. The footwear may be lined with skin, fabric, or fur. The crepe may be of any colour.
