675,012. Footwear. REICH, K. Nov. 13, 1950 [Dec. 5, 1949], No. 31200/49. Class 17 (ii). A composite platform unit for footwear comprises a middle sole 21, a banding 22 secured to the periphery of the middle sole and encased in a covering 24, and an outer sole 26 secured to the middle sole 21. A wedge 27 may be inserted at the heel. The sole 21 and banding 22 may be of crepe rubber secured together by adhesive and the covering 24 which may be of textile fabric or other flexible material, may also be secured by adhesive. The upper may be secured to the unit within a depression formed by the upstanding edge of the banding 22.
