Abstract

556,889. Boots &c. NIELSEN PTY., Ltd., C. P. & R. Dec. 12, 1942, No. 17705. Convention date, June 10, 1942. [Class 17 (ii)] In a "platform" type of shoe, the upper 6 is wiped over an insole 4 and temporarily secured to it by adhesive, tacking &c. and a sole-pad 7 of felt or other cushioning material with an edge-covering band 9 is then secured in place by through-stitching 10. The margin 14 of the band is out-turned and secured to a flat outsole 12 by stitching 13, and the parts finally trimmed, as shown at 16. A wedge heel 11 may be positioned between the pad 7 and outsole 12.
