828,283. Heels. DEMMEL, G. Nov. 4, 1957 [Nov. 2, 1956; Oct. 5, 1957], No. 34398/57. Class 17(2) A heel has a core member 11 of rigid material such as hard rubber with a lower tread portion 1 forming a stop with the upper part to accommodate a frame 10 attached to the core by an adhesive which is also employed to attach the heel to a shoe. Cavities 13 with ribs 12 may be formed in the upper part of the cone. The frame may be built up of layers of leather or may be of one piece or of plastic material. In a modification slots in the upper part of the core are engaged by ribs of a one piece frame the parts being held together by glueing a slab over the upper face of the core.
