544,220. Stoppers for bottles. SOC. ANON. AMUCHINA. March 21, 1940, No. 5335. Convention date, March 24. 1939. [Class 125 (iii)] A drop dispensing bottle has a polygonal aperture b in its mouth the sides of the aperture are convexly curved so that grooves c are formed between adjacent sides. An insert d of rubber or like flexible material is fitted tightly in the aperture leaving channels of small sectional area through the grooves c. These channels enable a regular drop by drop discharge to be obtained. The insert has a central hole into which is forced a stopper e with a head f which almost closes the grooves c. A screw cap h covers the whole of the bottle mouth and a flat gasket g forms a seal. In a modification the bottle neck has an enlarged annular mouth to form. a seat for an annular gasket surrounding the head f.
