Abstract

543,580. Thermionic valve circuits. PHILIPS LAMPS, Ltd. July 10, 1940, No. 11524. Convention date, July 13, 1939. [Classes 39 (i) and 40 (v)] In a mixing valve the control grid to which the locally generated oscillation is applied is more remote from the cathode than the signal control grid and the control grids are not separated by a screening grid but one of these grids is divided and connected in push-pull. Fig. 2 shows an arrangement in which the oscillator grid 3<SP>1</SP>, 311 is sub-divided and the output is taken from anode 41, 411 in push-pull. Alternatively the signal grid 1 may be sub-divided and the signal fed to the two halves in push-pull, Fig. 3 (not shown). The input control grid and the anode are each constituted by two halves arranged symmetrically with respect to the cathode and connected in push-pull. The divided grid may be built up from small rods which are sub-divided into two groups arranged symmetrically with respect to the cathode.
