[Class 114] In an airscrew blade comprising an assembly of laminated boards one or more of the boards consists of a central part spliced to a side part or parts of higher density, and the centre of the blade is provided with a part which is of less density than the other parts and is spliced therein by a joint crossing the laminations, thus enabling the weight of the blade to be reduced, and the strength of selected parts, particularly the root to be increased. In the preferred arrangement, the centre board 4 consists of a tapered central part 4b and edge parts 4c, 4d glued to wedge-shaped parts 4a of higher density. The adjacent boards are similar to the board 4 but have only one edge part. The outer boards consist of two parts. The joints in each board are staggered with respect to the joints in adjacent boards, the laminae may consist of wood, plastics, or other materials.
