[Class 145 (ii)] [See also Group X] Flexible wood flooring material comprises a number of units 10 which are in abutting relation and are of square, rectangular, diamond or other shape in plan, each unit being grooved or rabbeted around its edges on the lower side thereof, and the resulting grooves or channels along the meeting edges of the units being filled with an elastic filling material. The grooves in the edges of the units may be such as to produce channels of dovetail, V, rectangular or T cross-section. The filling material may be rubber latex, with which may be incorporated casein or powdered mica. A reinforcement in the form of a fibrous cord may be introduced into the filling material, preferably only in the longitudinal joints. If desired, a fibrous cord may constitute the bulk of the filling material and be cemented into the grooves with an adhesive, such as ordinary glue. Preferably, the units, before assembly into sheets, are brought to a moisture content approximating to the maximum moisture content which the wood will have in use. The units are from 1 to 3 inches long or wide and from “ to # inch thick, and may be formed into sheets having a width of from 2 to 3 feet.
