Abstract
541,816. Electrodeposition of metals; insulators. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd., and LEE, E. C. June 11, 1940, No. 10164. [Classes 36 and 41] A sealed connection is made between an insulating material 2 and metal 1 by electrodeposition of metal 4 on the insulating material 2. In the example illustrated a metal tube 1 is forced partly into a bush 2 which is grooved circumferentially and/or longitu dinally at 3. The part of the bush which may be of styrenated paper, upon which metal, e.g. copper, is to be deposited is made conducting by graphite or thin metal foil upon which the copper 4 is deposited to form the outer part of the cap which is keyed in place by the grooves 3. The metal 4 may be finished smooth, and flanges &c. may be attached to it.
