Abstract

540,143. Vacuum cleaners. HOOVER, Ltd. April 5, 1940, No. 6155. Convention date, April 17, 1939. [Class 8 (i)] A suction cleaner comprises a wheeled frame supporting the transverse cylindrical casing 3 of a fan, integral and rotatable with the handle and the dust-bag connection. The forward part 10 of the frame forms the lower part of the suction mouth which is completed by a removable cover 19 secured to the frame by a beading 19a and recess at the forward end and by a latch 31 and pin 32 at the rear. This cover provides an air duct leading to the fan, and a passage for the driving belt 15 of the agitator. The frame also carries a lamp 18 enclosed in a cylindrical reflector 17 the forward edges of which register with a window formed in the cover.
