[Class 118 (ii)] [Also in Group XI] An attachment for an electric torch, to enable it to be used for signalling, comprises a spring metal arm which is secured to the end open end of a metal torch casing and insulated therefrom, the arm being tapped into contact with the casing to cause the lamp to flash. The torch bulb may be replaced by a buzzer or other sound-producing device for the purpose of giving audible signals. A cap or cover C, of insulating material, is screwed or clamped on to the open end of the torch casing A, and a screw E passes through the cap and makes contact with the battery B. The spring arm G is secured to the cap by a lock nut J on the screw E. The free end of the arm G extends alongside, but not in contact with, the casing A and can be tapped into contact with the casing by a knob K. In a modification, the cap is replaced by a metal bridge piece which is secured to the end of the casing by a punch screw. The arm G is secured to but insulated from the bridge piece, and contact between the arm and the battery is made by a screw similar to the screw E.
