Abstract

539,571. Two-part couplings. BRITISH INSULATED CABLES, Ltd., and WILSON, L. B. June 12, 1940, No. 10244. [Class 38 (i)] A resilient plug contact consists of a central stem 1 to which is attached a piece of sheet metal 3 shaped to fit against the stem and having its side or sides 4 extended and lapped round the stem. The sheet metal 3 is fitted round and spot welded at 6 to the stem 1, and the extended side or sides 4 lapped round with spacing to allow resilience. In Figs. 3, 4 a pair of sheets 3 are shown each having one extension turned back over the fixed part 3. If one sheet only is used the extension may be made longer and lapped forwardly round the stem, or two extensions 4, Fig. 5, may be provided one lapped backwardly over the fixed part 3 and the other lapped forwardly over the plain, part of the stem 1. The sheet may be attached in an annular groove 5 in the stem 1.
