Abstract

531,966. Bakers' ovens. VICARS, Ltd., T. & T., and CROSLAND, E. M. July 13, 1939, No. 20375. [Class 51 (ii)] In a bakers' oven in which the goods are supported on a travelling conveyer and heated by gas or oil or electrically the width of the oven in the region of the conveyer is greater than at positions above or below it. The oven shown has heating chambers 13, 14 above and below the baking chamber 12 and rows of burners 15, 16. The walls 23 of the baking-chamber 12 have outwardly projecting channels 24 to increase the width of the baking chamber in the region of the conveyer 10. The heating chamber 14 exhausts through flues 25, 26, 27. Steam rising from the goods in the baking-chamber passes through flues 29 controlled by dampers 30. The roof 20 of the baking chamber is ribbed at 22. The gases from the upper heating chamber 13 pass through flues 33, 34, and openings 35 to an exhaust flue 28.
