[Class 38 (v)] [Also in Group XXXV] In a protective arrangement for oil-immersed transformers &c. in which a float chamber 2 is provided in a conduit inter-connecting the tank 1 and expansion vessel 3, the float 7 operating an alarm or protective circuit in response to loss of o:il or accumulation of gas, the chamber is provided with a cover in the form of a diaphragm adapted to operate a further alarm or protective circuit under the influence of excessive rise in oil level in the expansion vessel 3 and also, due to the provision of a reducing valve 4 in the conduit, under the influence of rapid rise in oil pressure under fault conditions.
