530,950. Gauging apparatus. WESTING- HOUSE ELECTRIC INTERNATIONAL CO. July 7, 1939, No. 19829. Convention date, July 9, 1938. [Class 106 (ii)] Comprise apparatus for gauging the thickness of sheet material while placed on or passed over a cylindrical member. The strip 14 to be measured is passed over a roller 12. A frame 20 provided with contact rollers 16, 18 is disposed to engage the strip, and movements of a feeler member 22 supported on the frame between the rollers are transmitted to indicating means 46, 48. The feeler roller 36 is carried in a stirrup 38 pressed down by a spring 32 and the shank 30 is provided with a rack geared to a pointer 46.
