Abstract

1,172,331. Measuring surface roughness; photo-electric thickness measuring. WIGGINS TEAPE RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT Ltd. April 29, 1968, No.20248/68. Addition to 1,076,691. Headings G1A, G1M and G1N. In a modification of the device for testing the surface roughness of a paper web described in Specification 1,076,691 the pair of detecting rollers are mutually offset in the direction transverse to the direction of movement of the web, thereby facilitating the detection of long, longitudinal wrinkles and allowing the width of the web to be covered with fewer detectors.
